Washington's New WA 38 Apple Looks like Market Winner

It's sweet and tangy, very firm and has lots of juice. In fact, the new WA 38 apple release form Washington State University appears to have a quality for all consumers, and as a result could be a hit in the marketplace.

Now under issue with a drawing among growers to see which producers get the apple release first, the WA 38 is labeled by WSU breeders as "eye-catching, dark-red and premium" for the orchard and the supermarket, with a "winning combination of taste, texture and beauty."

Technically, it is a cross between the Enterprise and Honeycrisp varieties, producing large fruit which has an "excellent eating quality."
